چکیده
China’s first optical stereo mapping satellite with a sub-meter resolution, GaoFen-7 (GF-7), launched in November 2019, shows significant potential for providing high-resolution topographic and geomorphic data quantitative research on active tectonics. However, no studies have evaluated the capability of GF-7-generated digital elevation model (DEM) quantitatively studying This study aimed to validate accuracy DEMs extracted from GF-7 imagery, or without ground control points (GCPs), applying First, images were processed obtain spatial resolution 2 m, utilizing three different methods, including block adjustment GCPs, aid Google Earth SRTM DEM, GCPs derived Ice, Cloud, land Elevation Satellite-2 (ICESat-2) data. These generated called DEMMethod1, DEMMethod2, DEMMethod3, respectively, verified by airborne LiDAR Hasishan section Haiyuan fault. Second, identifying faults, fault scarps, horizontal offsets was evaluated. Finally, 8 vertical 13 measured based DEMs, used verify measurements’ accuracies. The results indicated that DEMMethod1 worst DEMMethod3 superior DEMMethod2. could effectively identify apparent scarps offsets. RMSE values 0.55 0.41 respectively. yielded 3.98 2.52 1.37 findings demonstrated be accurately using images. Meanwhile, our ICESat-2 utilized improve accuracies measurements

Towards Automated Dem Generation from High Resolution Stereo Satellite Images
High resolution stereo satellite imagery is well suited for the creation of digital surface models (DSM). In this paper, a system for highly automated DSM and orthoimage generation based on CARTOSAT-1 imagery is presented. The proposed system processes photometrically corrected level-1 stereo scenes using the rational polynomial coefficients (RPC) universal sensor model. The RPC are derived fro...
متن کاملDEM generation from satellite data
Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) are required for several tasks like generation of orthoimages, flood planning, erosion control, agriculture, generation of contour lines, visibility check, 3D-views and others. Mainly in developed countries DEMs are available, but not in any case like required. DEMs can be generated by traditional photogrammetry based on aerial photos if they are available and no...
متن کاملStereo analysis, DEM extraction and orthorectification of CORONA satellite imagery: archaeological applications from the Near East
CORONA satellite imagery, preserving an account of the earth’s surface from 40 years ago, is a most important archaeological survey tool and we have often sung its praises. Here the authors use new procedures to extend the competence and revelations of CORONA even further. Stereo pairs derived from images taken from fore and aft of the satellite give three dimensional images of landscapes and e...
متن کاملGeneration of DEM from LIDAR data
Obtaining high resolution Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) is a critical task for analysis and visualization in several remote sensing applications. LIDAR technology provides an effective way for obtaining highresolution topographic information. This paper presents a textured-based novel automatic algorithm for DEM generation from LIDAR data. The proposed technique uses multifractal-based textur...
متن کاملDem Generation from Airborne Lidar Data
Airborne Lidar (light detection and ranging) sensors provide dense height information of large areas in an efficient manner. But for the production of digital elevation model (DEM) from the point cloud, the filtering of the point cloud should be carried out in order to remove points representing surface of non-ground objects. According to the deficiencies of slope based method, a novel filterin...
